Networking

A new attitude of cooperation is replacing partisanship and isolationism. This paradigm shift of networking can be seen in the following examples:  A) In 1990, a local network of youth workers in Texas sponsored student prayer rallies around school flagpoles at the beginning of the school year. It was called, simply, See You at the Pole. Today the observance has become an annual event, drawing over three million students around the world.  B) A few years ago a Baptist leader stood before a network of youth workers and shared his denomination's plans for a sexual abstinence program. The network leaders responded enthusiastically and joined in the effort. The result was an annual interdenominational campaign called True Love Waits, which helps millions of students around the world become committed to sexual purity. Networking works. Some individuals refer to networking as leveraging. That is to lift far more than one's weight by putting effort and resources where they can be multiplied. Think of the results when you add God to the equation! Deuteronomy 32:30 states that when empowered by God, "one man can chase a thousand, or two can put ten thousand to fight." That's a 500% increase in effectiveness by simply working together. Working together just makes sense. There are approximately 30 million teenagers in America. There are more than 56,000 middle, junior high, and high school campuses in America. In Lawrence County, there are over 8,700 middle and high school students. One youth group cannot reach every student in Lawrence County. It will take every church in this county praying, loving, and working together to introduce students to the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. When walls are torn down, students are empowered to reach their schools, prayer becomes our source of direction and strength, and youth workers come together in unprecedented strategic partnerships then revival will happen. Knox Student Ministries offers prayer fellowships, book clubs, appreciation parties, rallies, training events, Bible studies, worship events, student outreaches, campus ministries, small church youth ministry training, student retreats, newsletters, online help, library resources, and youth worker retreats that are designed to network youth workers together so more students can hear the gospel.  We believe that . . . Together We Are Better!
